The Organic Way with Juicy Chemistry

Hey guys, big fat apologies for my disappearance this week! It was quite a mess with my exams on, sickness and my poor old WiFi!  However, I’ll make it up this week with extra blog posts 🙂

Today I’ll be reviewing these pretty little organic skincare products from Juicy Chemistry. But before I jump into the review, I’d like to tell you guys why I decided to try JC.

It is quite sad that almost all of us take our body for granted, skincare being one of the major victims. Some of us are only bothered about internal health, like eating good food and all of that. But you do know right, that whatever you apply on your skin gets absorbed?

While there are a thousand companies buzzing about natural beauty and skin care products, how many of them are actually providing stuff that are free of nasties? Some ingredients even turn out to be carcinogenic!

So, is it really skin care after all?

A couple of days back I was looking up the internet regarding natural ways to take good care of my skin and I came across this brand- Juicy Chemistry.

Continue reading to know more about my experience with JC 🙂

Coming to the first thing I always talk about, their website. Really very nice. Informative, user friendly and good looking! Click here to check them out.

I got to know all about their brand on their website itself and they have quite an interesting story, describing the birth of Juicy Chemistry.

What is Juicy Chemistry?

From what I found on their website, JC claims that everything we need for healthy and beautiful skin is available in nature, in contrast to the popular belief that labs can produce better ingredients than mother nature.

Their aim is to help create the perfect chemistry between us & nature. They believe that shopping for personal care products for you and your family should be both delightful & holistic. Personal care should not just be a sweet smelling experience, but should create the perfect harmony between the body, mind and spirit.

Their Highlights:

  1. Handmade

  2. 100% Veg

  3. Freshly Made

  4. No animal testing

  5. 100% Natural

  6. No harmful chemicals

  7. No fragrance oils

Product Review

I got my hands on these 3 products from JC –

  1. Rose, Saffron and French Pink Clay (Face & Body Polish)

  2. Orange Candy (Lip Scrub)

  3. Orange Candy (Lip Butter)

Rose, Saffron and French Pink Clay (Face & Body Polish)

Ingredients: Organic White Sugar, Organic Demerara Sugar, Organic Cane Sugar, Himalayan Rock Salt, Saffron Infused Almond Oil,Tocopherol (Natural Vitamin-E), Vitus vinifera (Grapeseed Oil), Pelargonium graveolens (Geranium Essential Oil), Rosa (Rose), Rose damascena (Rose Essential Oil), French Pink Clay, Kashmiri Saffron

Comes in a light weight plastic jar along with a wee spoon

My Experience: The first thing I did on opening the lid was tried to smell the product. It has a pretty strong smell of rose and if you are able to distinguish, you get the fragrance of saffron too. I’m not a very big fan of the rose scent but nevertheless, I was very keen on trying this product. I read the ingredients list and my mind was at peace, I knew I wasn’t gonna torture my skin at all 🙂

It has the appearance of bath salts but is much softer.  It looks like this stuff has come from some beautifully crafted recipe !

20

You can see the bits of saffron in it ❤

I followed the instructions in the packaging and went ahead to try it.

21

Scoop a small amount of the product into a clean bowl

22

Add a few drops of water(Alternatively you can try a few drops of milk too) and mix it up.

Spread the mixture on your face in circular motions for a couple of minutes and wash clean. The mixture feels a bit oily on the skin while applying, obviously because it contains some essential oils. However once you wash it off, it is all gone having done the work it was meant to 🙂

Pros:

  1. You can really feel it work on your skin! It was quite a relaxing experience when I was applying it on my face.

  2. Doesn’t feel harsh on your skin at all! I could feel the mixture getting absorbed into my skin.

  3. I felt as if I were using some homemade product and was absolutely stress-free about using it.

  4. After I washed it off my face, my skin was left feeling  fresh, smoother and deeply nourished.

Cons:

  1. Not a con really, it is just my personal choice of fragrance that I don’t like rose so much.

  2. I would not advice this if you have  very oily skin. However, this product is anyways meant for normal to combination skin types.

The oily skin type can check their website for suitable products 🙂

Rating: 4/5

Orange Candy (Lip Scrub)

8

IngredientsPersea armeniaca (Avocado Oil), Tocopherol (Natural Vitamin-E), Prunus dulcis (Sweet Almond Oil), Beeswax, Organic White Sugar, Butyrospermun parkii (Shea Butter), Citrus sinensis (Orange Essential Oil)

My Experience:  This was the product I really wanted to try so bad! I have mentioned before in my other posts that I have some serious issues with lips. My upper lip especially goes ridiculously dry and starts hurting. Since this problem has started,  lip care products for me have literally become a necessity to survive 😛

This lip scrub is damn cool!

Comes in a similar jar like the rest of their products.

17

Take a small quantity of the scrub with your ring finger and massage it onto your lips gently for a minute or two and then wash it off.

Pros:

  1. Refreshing citrus fragrance. Smells just like an orange candy! Perfect for this weather.

  2. Scrubs off all the dead skin on my lips leaving it softer than before. Really does its work effectively!

  3. Gentle on the lips. The stuff that actually does all the scrubbing is organic white sugar!

  4. Gives the same homely, nasty-free pleasures.

Cons:

  1. Well, you might feel like eating it up instead of using it.  Umm, is that really a con? I don’t know 😀

Rating: 4.5/5 LOVE ❤

I’m telling you, everyone should use this.

By everyone, I mean everyone 🙂

MRP: INR 200 for 10 gms

Orange Candy (Lip Butter)

Ingredientsersea armeniaca (Avocado Oil), Tocopherol (Natural Vitamin-E), Prunus dulcis (Sweet Almond Oil), Beeswax, Butyrospermun parkii (Shea Butter), Citrus sinensis (Orange Essential Oil)

My Experience:  Like I said, I have become obsessed with lip balms and this one is definitely getting added to my favorites list!

12

Again, comes in a small jar. You have to apply the lip balm using your finger.

16

Dab as much as you like onto your lips ❤  I apply the balm after using the lip scrub. I’m loving this one!

Pros:

  1. Has the same citrusy orange candy smell as that of the scrub. Very refreshing.

  2. This lip balm feels extremely nourishing.

  3. Does a great job at keeping my lips hydrated! Kudos!

  4. I love the way it gets absorbed into my lips and blends in so well.

  5. Lips feel super smooth!

Cons:

  1. No mention of any SPF so I am not sure of how well it will help your lips fight the sun.

  2. As it is deeply moisturizing, I wouldn’t advice you to use this before applying any matte lipstick (if you want it to stay matte that is) , because the lip color may easily wear off.

Rating: 4.5/5 ❤

If you have lip issues or want well hydrated lips or you just love lip balms, you definitely should give this a shot!

MRP: INR 200 for 10 grams
